Tenant FAQ on the Tenant Installment Program

  • When does a resident need to be signed up by?

    The Property Management Installment Plan provider covers rent from the 1st to the 3rd of each month. As long as a tenant is signed up by the

    3rd, the installment plan provider can cover that month of rent for them. If a resident signs up after the 3rd, they will be enrolled for the following month.

  • How much does the program cost?

    Our installment plan provider (Flex) charges a flat monthly membership fee of $19.99. There are never any late fees, hidden fees, or penalties associated with the program. 

  • What if we have questions about program or need support?

    Tenants can contact customer support directly from within the app or by sending an email to

    help@getflex.com. The property management company is not managing the program, but simply is working with the provider to bring this program to our tenants. 

  • What are the qualification for the installment plan?

    • The tenant must have no outstanding rent balance owed to the property management company (so get enrolled early before becoming late)


    • The tenant must have a minimum credit score of 550


    • The tenant must be able to link a bank account that has a history of deposits


    • The tenant must link our  property management tenant portal to their Flex account

  • Does the installment qualification process affect credit score?

    During the application process, the installment plan provider (Flex) runs a soft credit check on the tenant which does not affect their credit score.

  • Will the installment plan lender have access to my account info?

    No, all banking information provided by a resident is run through our partner Plaid, a Visa backed

    company. This is to ensure the security of personal information and so that Flex can debit resident accounts on their selected dates.

  • What if tenants bank does not work with Plaid system?

    As the installment provider does not directly handle the bank account information, if a tenant's bank does not work with the Plaid System; then they will not be able to use the installment program. 

  • What happens if a resident does not pay back installment plan provider?

    Flex, the installment lender, handles all paybacks and write-offs internally, never coming back to the property owner or property management company for repayment, however tenants can be put on payment plans in order to help them get back on track. Once the resident has zeroed out their balance, they will be eligible to be back on Flex.

  • Are there any reasons why a approved tenant who was approved did not receive the funds?

  • How can a tenant cancel?

    A tenant can reach out to the installment loan provider by contacting the Flex support team at help@getflex.com to have tenant account 

    deactivated at any time. If they want reactivate their account at any point in the future, they can

    contact our support team.
