Flexible Rent Payments Are Here: Introducing Flex in Your AppFolio Resident Portal

Managing monthly expenses can sometimes be challenging, especially when multiple bills are due at the beginning of the month. To provide residents with greater financial flexibility, we're excited to announce that Flex is now available through the AppFolio Resident Portal for eligible residents.

If your property has enabled this feature, you can now apply for Flex directly from your existing resident portal—making it easier than ever to manage your rent payments.


What Is Flex?

Flex is a rent payment solution that allows eligible residents to split their monthly rent into smaller, more manageable payments instead of paying the entire balance at once.

Once you're enrolled, Flex pays Ashoka Lion the full rent amount on the first of each month, and you repay Flex  in two scheduled payments according to your Flex agreement.

This option can help make budgeting easier while ensuring your rent is paid on time.


How to Enroll

Getting started is quick and convenient.

Simply:

  1. Log in to your AppFolio Resident Portal.
  2. Navigate to the Payments section.
  3. Look for the Flex option.
  4. Complete the enrollment process if your property and account are eligible.


Once your account is active, you can begin using Flex for future rent payments. There's no need to leave your resident portal or create a separate payment account.

Check Your Eligibility

Flex is available only for eligible properties and residents.

If you don't see the Flex option in your AppFolio Resident Portal, it may not yet be available for your property or account.

  • If your application is not approved, Ashoka Lion will not receive the reason for the decision and is unable to review, override, or appeal Flex's determination.
