Tenant DIY Maintenance Assessment
Take our Maintenance Assessment
At Ashoka Lion, we want our tenants to feel confident in understanding their home maintenance responsibilities. We created the Tenant DIY Maintenance Assessment to help residents learn simple, practical ways to care for their rental home and prevent avoidable maintenance problems.
Our property management team has focused the assessment on common areas of home maintenance, including:
- Drains and plumbing
- Garbage disposals
- Air conditioning and HVAC systems
- General home maintenance
- Preventing avoidable damage and repairs
Required for Move-In and Lease Renewals
For rental properties managed by Ashoka Lion, tenants are required to complete the DIY Maintenance Assessment as part of the move-in process.
Tenants are also required to retake the assessment during the lease renewal process. This helps ensure residents have an opportunity to refresh their understanding of important maintenance responsibilities throughout their tenancy.
Why Take the Assessment?
Many maintenance problems can be prevented by following a few simple steps and knowing what should—and should not—be done in the home.
The assessment is designed to help tenants understand:
- How to care for important home systems properly
- What routine maintenance tasks they are responsible for
- How everyday actions can contribute to property damage
- What items should not be put down drains or garbage disposals
- How to help maintain their HVAC system
- When a potential problem should be reported to Property Management
Understanding these responsibilities can help protect the home, prevent unnecessary damage, and reduce avoidable maintenance issues.
A Simple Way to Stay Informed
Whether you are a new tenant moving into an Ashoka Lion-managed property or a current resident renewing your lease, taking the assessment provides a quick opportunity to refresh your knowledge and make sure you understand your responsibilities.
