Located on State Highway 6 south and FM 521, Fresno has benefited greatly from Houston’s growth, after a major increase in home building began in the early 2000s.

According to some reports, the city name was selected by a former resident of Fresno, California. However it got its name, Fresno, Texas, has come a long way since its humble beginnings in the early 19th century, and is now home to nearly 20,000 people.Children in the area attend schools that fall under the jurisdiction of the Fort Bend Independent School District. Some Fresno-area middle school students are zoned to Lake Olympia Middle School in Missouri City, while others attend Billy Baines Middle School in the nearby community of Sienna Plantation.

One major attraction for outdoor and recreation enthusiasts is Mustang Community Center. Located in Fresno, the area features a baseball field, benches, one meeting room, two pavilions, one play area, tables, and a walking trail.

Notable Areas
Today, Fresno is home to several major neighborhoods including Andover Farms and Teal Run. Lula Belle Goodman Elementary School and Burton Elementary School are located in Fresno’s Teal Run neighborhood.
