Our Advantage

At Ashoka Lion, we realize that all Board members are volunteers and have their own personal lives and jobs. We believe that the role of a Board should be a working partnership with their management company to help alleviate the stress and tension the management of a community can bring. An Association pays a management company to handle the day-to-day management of the neighborhood, but we understand that our company and the board must work together to deal with issues.


We will call on the community to be active in enhancing the quality of their lives; but we will strive to take away as many of the tedious day-to-day issues as possible.


There are three key areas where we feel our company separates ourselves from our competitors:


COMMUNICATION: Our Company prides itself in being accessible. We work very well with telephone communications and emails. I will outline a few processes that we have to assist with these endeavors:


Initiatives

Dedicated email address. We provide a dedicated email address for association matters that alerts our managers and teams to issues specifically to your community.

Online Discussion Board. Our web based homeowner portals provides the community a Voluntary “Opt-In” Discussion Board to discuss community matters.

Online Document Access. Online Access to key documents for homeowners (Annual meeting minutes, By-Laws, etc), as approved by the board

After Hours Repair Line. Office phone lines are checked throughout the night by Managers in case of an emergency after hours.


ACCOUNTING: We understand that the accounting of an Association is vital to the community (especially because it is a non-profit organization); and we have a strong emphasis on working to keep this correct.


Ashoka Lion’s owner and managing director comes from the intense accounting experience of one of the Big 4 accounting (PricewaterhouseCoopers), and he has his Masters in Accounting. To demonstrate our commitment to solid record keeping, we have instituted the following initiatives:

We have a commitment to adequate staffing. We have 2 other degreed accountants on staff in addition to our managing director, and we have an accounting clerk to assist with data entry.

Transparent Account Access. We provide view access to the accounts for the authorized board member to validate all expenses and transactions.

Online Income Statement for the board. Board Members have an electronic income statement in their homeowner portal to keep up with the current month and prior month spending. This provides a easy location to review the associations fiscal activity.

Online Homeowner Statements. Homeowners will have a portal which to view their homeowner account and see all the payments and charges that are charged to it (HOA fines).


TECHNOLOGY: Many management companies are clinging to older, paper processes and not adapting to technology. Our company utilizes technology to provide high levels of service at a reasonable cost. We provide multiple tools:


Initiatives

Multiple Payment Options online: Homeowners can go online and setup E-check payments or Pay by Credit Card

ACH Capabilities: For homeowners who are not comfortable with using the online payments options, then they can setup a written agreement to automatically draw the HOA fee at the appropriate time every year.
